General
To give you access to studio-grade compression, Keeley have come up with the GC-2 Limiting Amplifier: a bite-sized compressor/limiter with a stompbox design. Whether it's subtle noise reduction or extremely clean amp sound that you're looking for, this high-tech bit of kit makes it possible. Loaded with a That Corp 4320 chip and able to span a huge frequency range, this sound-enhancing effect pedal can be used with guitars, basses, keyboards, drum machines and most other electric instruments.
A Compressor with Uncompressed Potential
By limiting clipping noise and distortion, the Keeley GC-2 Limiting Amplifier Compressor / Limiter not only gets you the sound you want, but takes a load off the speakers inside your amplifier. Simply look at the Threshold indicator LED on the face of the pedal to see which sound can be reigned in when, or use the GC-2 as a booster by completely turning off the compression before turning the Gain up as far as needed. Built according to Keeley's exacting standards, the GC-2 Limiting Amplifier is a brilliant rig-addition for musicians that want ultimate control over their sound.

Ik heb hem nu een paar jaar en ik gebruik hem als clean boost na de overdrive.
Dit pedaal is een compressor/limiter. Je stelt de treshold in (bij welk volume hij in de compressie schiet) en de ratio (hoe heftig er dan gecompressed moet worden. Dat kan van zeer subtiel tot strenge limiting). Als laatste stel je het uitgangsvolume in.
Het fijne van een limiter is dat hij geen zachte geluiden oppompt. Dus je krijgt geen extra ruis.
Qua sound is het karakter van dit pedaal kraakhelder te noemen. Het claimt het geluid niet te kleuren maar ik constateer dat er wat helderheid bijkomt. Dat is voor mij perfect omdat mijn overdrive aan de donkere kant is.
Je kan je geluid wat meer druk meegeven met een compressor/limiter.
Eigenlijk kun je elk instrument er een beetje mee naar voren halen terwijl het qua volume mooi in het gareel blijft.
